The year 2022 was an exceptional year of Industry Growth. Many of our very familiar Companies grew but not just the bottom line– they matured somewhat. There was a noticeable boost in the way Electric Scooters were being looked at from R&D to and through production. Well known Brands, such as Segway, MiniMotors, Emove, Kaabo, Apollo, and some breakout New ones hit the scene, like BlueTran, Teverun, NUMO with some exciting new Scooters.

I think we are actually moving into an era that shifts us into a very different level of production. Keep in mind– anytime there's a sizable shift in the production of any Brand– especially recognizable Brands, the Industry in itself takes a bump.

In this season of "Growth" we are seeing some indicators that awaken one or two of our spidey-senses and we as consumers start looking around to see who else have tingles. That's because "Growth" inspire, charge and tap each of us ever so firmly that it tips us in the same direction and suddenly a spark ignites and there goes the chatter. Next thing you know, we have all caught flame.

The same can be said for our two OHvation® Award Winners for the year 2022. We have One Manufacturer/Vendor who has been making some big waves as of late and a certain YouTube Dual who has become quite the crowd favorite. Both of these Honored Winners have earned respect, and notoriety. That's because they both caught on to that magical ingredient of natural, raw Consumer interest.

That model caught my eye and soon we were doing PEV Community work, problem solving and helping all sorts of Rider/ Owner eNthusiasts and novice PEV Users. A brotherhood was born and we been moving forward in our perspective lanes ever since.

People often ask me, "how can I scale my business?" and I can honestly say VoroMotors have all the pieces in the right place. From interviewing and hiring the right people, to taking care of those people, having a solid, on-boarding process, Culture, Company Policy, Regulations, Training, Q.C., Employee Handbook, Departmental Management, Marketing, Fulfillment Process, Advertisement and an iron clad system that keeps the cogs moving. If you ever get a chance to hang out with them on Rides or create Content it is a magical marriage between the two that just works seamlessly. I watched them catch and over take every other PEV YouTuber out there even ESG.

...with a very humble and simplistic approach to delivering PEV Content, I understand the glean of their success. It's the People. Like Melvin, Myself, and maybe one or two others that I can honestly vouch for in this industry, Jimmy and Andrew has that "it" factor. What is the "it" factor you ask? Well, the "it" factor is when a Person can capture the heart of another from an inner force that sparks the "other". It is an unspeakable "je ne sais quoi" found only in the soul of a person by the soul of the finder and when they meet, it's that humanistic kinship which magically affirm authenticity, thru genuine real concern, empathy, and love for others.

When it comes to Electric Scooter Advancement, Innovation, Production, Fulfillment Issues, Defects and the likes– 2021 was the year for blessing and curse. We had our ups, and we had our downs but in the end, we had an exciting year. 

There were many positive events that we can honestly hold our heads high and say there was advancement. Most of this celebration comes from an amazing innovative year. Consumers pushed Manufacturers to really take a good hard look at the way they produce our eScooters. Most of them really stepped up and then there were some that dropped the ball. The important thing with those who dropped the ball was their ability to self correct, improve and bounce back with Consumer awareness at the forefront of their improvement. 

There was ONLY one Manufacturer that went against the grain by refusing to consider Consumer Satisfaction and that was Bronco Motors. They really had the opportunity to deliver one of the Best, if not the Best design of them all but controller and step down issues were so over whelming that they decided to sacrifice the Consumer, leaving many to fend for themselves.

Nami, Apollo and Kaabo experienced issues but they focused on the big picture (Consumer Satisfaction) and resolved their issues and took care of the Consumers at the same time. Kudos to these Guys for doing it right.

Then you had those step up to the plate Vendors who definitely held great responsibility in those Manufactures bouncing back successfully. Though you may be a Consumer who do not care for these two Vendors, you have to applaud them for rescuing these Manufacturers in a critical time of dyer need, and they are VoroMotors and FluidFree Ride (Melvin and Julian) they stepped up big time. I have to also give it to Apollo being both, Vendor and Manufacturer– they pushed forth major action and correcting their break out Apollo Phantom with the V2. These Guys always step up and do the right thing by Consumers.

I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking and saying... I can't wait to see what 2022 will bring by way of innovation, improvements and risk taking. Consumers are looking for some industry basics (like every eScooter coming Standard with (5) five basic safety features: Headlight, front/rear Facing Turn Signals, Tail Light, Brake Light and a Horn) as well as evolving to the acceptance of the proven efficiency of The Sinewave Controller, Never Flat Tires and 84V Battery with boosted (Amp-Hour) capacity, better Kickstands, Forged Aluminum Chassis, Forks, Arms and advanced– larger TFT displays... also including some effective waterproofing can really bring us up to date with eScooter R&D to execution. I think 2022 will be the year for a very forward thinking Creator with ground breaking Customer Care at the front of their processes. 

So here's to a great future in Micro Mobility PEV (especially eScooters) and a growing, more inclusive and aware Consumer Base who thinks more of Industry Advancement and Sustainability than personal thrills and going against the grains of compliance.

The year 2020 has been an exceptional year for eMobility advancement (especially with eScooters). Most people find all kind of ways to look for the bad in this terrible COVID realization– may God bless the souls of all those who lost their lives in this battle. We have seen growth trends like never before in eMobility purchases across the board but none like the explosive recognition and acquisitions of regular ordinary people intrigued by some extraordinary alternative methods of getting around– we're talking eScooters here. Regular people have become enthusiastic about this growing market of technological evolution in the world of transportation. So much so, that our Federal Government has taken interest. President Elect, Joe Biden has put together a very robust plan for the American Transportation Industry that includes Micro Mobility (eScooters).

A lot of the credit for this booming eMobility expansion goes to the Consumers who buy and ride these eco friendly, cost efficient forms of transportation but there are other factors that contribute to this amazing expansion and adaptation as well. eMobility is the wave of the future. Yes, at first their were bad actors standing in the way of what stands to be a very effective eco mode of transportation.

on patrol. These are all good signs that move the needle toward capable, proper and practical legislative processes that will lead to sweeping and universal eMobility Laws, Codes and roadways designed for the unique operational and design needs of eMobility Transportation Vehicles (mainly eScooters). I am very optimistic that the surprising boom of Electric Scooters hitting the streets in a somewhat overnight type of evolution will shift practices to include certain mandates that force users to comply to common city code as defined for eScooter transportation on local roads, paths, trails and lanes. But like I said earlier, there are many factors that contribute and are drawing the blueprints that will define how this emerging Market and Society should look moving forward.

There are Manufacturers, Vendors, Vloggers and Advocates who work hard behind the scenes to insure this Industry survives and thrives. What can I say... Julian– the founder of FluidFreeRide has and continues to break his own records by improving Customer care, Product Knowledge, Industry trends and the most incredible Culture you'll find among a Team of capable Staff. I truly enjoy speaking to him on the phone and love watching how they navigate the ebb and flow of this growing and evolutionary Transportation Mode.

One thing I know for sure about Julian and his incredible Staff over at FluidFreeRide is that they are not remised to excellence. Ever willing to listen, learn and lean into an insatiable Market demand from the most intelligent Consumers of any genre. Their attention to detail shows in their Consumer outcomes. Wow! These guys over at Apollo never cease to amaze me and our Staff. What a humble Group of Professionals who don't mind critique. I remember riders coming to me complaining about cuts they were experiencing with their Apollo Scooters. Don't be confused– these loyal Customers loved their Scooters, just not the innocent scratches and cuts...

I reached out to Mac to introduce myself and learn more about their Company and we hit it off like we knew each other for years. A very humble spirit exude through the phone and I felt comfortable sharing Consumers' concern about the finish of their Scooters. He told me that they were aware and working on it and Boyyyy! Did they deliver!! They not only FIXED the issue but they surpassed the complaint by completely revamping the Brand, improving previous models and adding some technologically advanced models that will have a grand impact on the industry. 

Let me tell you guys out there who think you are too good for improvement... Chris and Mac over at Apollo knows what it takes to scale a Brand and I salute you guys for your selfless commitment to this Industry. Your love for creating a Safe, Reliable, Comfortable Performance eScooter that doesn't leave a carbon footprint, while exciting new enthusiast into becoming Scootopians™ is quite commendable.

Anyone in business knows this is a recipe for success. When I met and spoke to Dale, I knew that he was cut from a different cloth.

tale– guiding the way he raised us. We were raised on a Chicken Farm in Compton, California, and we had tons of chores everyday. One unlikely chore mixed in with our slave driving farming chores was to warm up and place Dad's Chrysler 300 on the street every morning after feeding the animals and completing morning chores. Of course everyone wanted that ​job, so to keep confusion down– Dad would allow the oldest to assume that duty and would alternate between the oldest everyday. Of course my siblings had their own bully laws they created and somehow, I seem to get lost in the shuffle. One day while plowing the grounds, preparing the soil for next season's crop, my Dad had to be somewhere and I was the first kid he saw and he charged me to warm the car up and pull it out on the street. Now mind you, the large sedan was parked in a narrow driveway that I had to navigate about ten inches on each side of the very erect chain linked fence post that I had to pass through goin backwards. I aced it my friend, not only that– I cleaned the windows and wiped it down while it was warming up. My Dad was so impressed by the way he received his car that I some how became by default– the go to for moving the car. ​  ​

I tell you this because, I gained all sorts of experience. When the right side was full, I had to turn her around and park on the left side. I also got the task of pulling her in at night. My Dad loved this beast of car. He had another car– a 1971 Dodge Dart over on the side path and his crown joy– a 1962 Chrysler 300 big block, with the slanted head lights and push button transmission shifter. It was a beauty back then. Dad started taking me out for lessons when I was fourteen years old and my first street drive was in the 1962 Chrysler 300. I felt like royalty. ​

You see, Dad had the Dodge Dart as his Bucket. As a matter of fact everyone in the neighborhood had a Bucket that they drove around for un-important trips or riding in questionable neighborhoods. this "Bucket Mentality" stretched beyond cars... people had Bucket bicycles, skateboards and yes, even Scooters. It was truly a Bucket Mentality. Don't ride your nicest ride to and for unseemly trips or neighborhoods and never pick up things or run errands in your prized vehicle– getting it dirty and possibly damaged– when all you had to do is take your Bucket. 

This Bucket Mentality stuck with me throughout my lifetime and of course today– I find myself applying the same standard with my Scooters. The problem is– that these machines cost so much, that one cannot classify any Scooter costing over a thousand dollars– as a Bucket.
